Hi,
I got concerned reading all the replies so far.
Currently I have 70% (total stock)/30% (total bond) allocation in my taxable account. I and my spouse have 401k which we contribute to max.
We are in the accumulation phase and we are not in the highest tax bracket.
Even if what is said about the loss in NAV of total bond index fund is true, what would I do? I cannot sell this fund and put it in IRA because we do not get any tax benefit (and there is a limit which is a small number), I cannot put it in 401k because portion of salary goes into it and it is maxed out at the end of the year.
Should I just carry on with same asset allocation?
I think that I am not understanding the basics.
