stocks cannot have average basis which means I picked "Specific Identification." Anything fancy is just a variety of SpecID with a computer algorithm specifically identifying the shares for you. Even FIFO (first-in, first-out) which the IRS considers the default is a variety of SpecID with the IRS or a computer algorithm specifically identifying the First [oldest] shares purchased [in] as the shares sold [out]. HIFO, LIFO, etc are the computer specifically identifying shares that one could identify themselves.
