… for a less than reliable transport service for which I have little recourse when a bad experience occurs. (Car smells, driver cancels on me, etc)

Uh, what’s your “recourse” if you have those experiences in a traditional cab?

If a cab doesn’t show up I can write a letter to better business association. If Uber cancels me after 10 minutes it’s the standard and expectation.
