It's a great company with a great manager but we all know that. What will it be in the future. For one thing, we have no idea really how well the new managers will perform. And I, for one, don't know what the stock will do upon Buffett's. It could go up. It could go down.
We do know that Buffett is holding about 270 billion in cash. That comes out to 30% of stock portfolio. That is a lot of protection in a rocky market. A lot of drag in a good one.
How will the cash be deployed? It cannot be in small or mid-sized companies because it takes too much to move the needle and Buffett's footprint make acquiring a stake in a small company difficult.
Will it beat the S&P? Again we don't know. But since you can get market returns by just buying the market why bother with anything else.
