Personal Consumer Issues • What Movie Have You Recently Watched?

DW and I went to an actual movie theater last week to see It Ends With Us. She wanted to see it; I had no information about it, but I said okay. We hadn’t been out to a movie theater since before the pandemic. The experience reminded me of all the bad things about going to a movie theatre. First, the previews were so loud (the whole theater seemed to shake) and long. The movie started 20 minutes after the announced time. Second, the movie is rated PG-13 and someone brought 3 or 4 kids under 13 who didn’t shut up until DW finally had to Shush them. Third, we could hear noise from an adjacent theater. Fourth, the movie stunk and after driving 25 miles, paying for 2 admissions, and buying a huge popcorn, we weren’t about to leave. The plot was contrived and the story was predictable and trite.
At least if you watch a movie at home on one of the 6 or 7 streaming services that we are already paying for, if it stinks you can just turn it off and find another.
