Personal Finance (Not Investing) • 30-Yr Projected Electricity Costs

OP, I posted about solar panel viability with our usage in the past. I received excellent advice from the forum.

1. What is your annual usage? Average per home for our utility is 12,000 kWh annually. Our usage is 5,000 kWh annually [for 2500 sq ft home with 100 F to 115F hot summers]. As you can see, solar panels fixed cost recoupment will take many years at this relatively low usage.

2. What were the power generation sources for your utility? How much of it is the renewable fraction? Our utility's power generation is 40% wind power and set to increase the renewable fraction further.

Given this, solar was a no go. YMMV.

Please ignore the spreadsheet warrior responses. I fell in those traps before. Including from your salesperson - just ignore.
