Reasonable goals of liquid assets:
Engineers: $5 MM
Physicians: $10 MM
So a two physician household would be $20M? Independent of specialization?
If each was earning around $1 million per year (surgeon, anesthesiologist, etc working long hours).
Engineer & lawyer in my family. If we worked until 65 we’d make 20M — assuming typical stock market returns. Neither particularly high paid for our professions. And we also spend a fair amount — not ultra-frugal by any means. We spend a lot on kids.
