For what it's worth, we are really interested in the Seattle area. It would keep us on the west coast, plenty of Fortune 500 companies for employment, and frankly, I can't complain about the weather. I have been begging for rain these past few weeks!

Seriously agree. Moved from CA to WA in 2007. Retired and moved back in 2020. Seattle has a lot to offer in terms of employment, culture and entertainment. We just missed CA sun and beach too much.
Just be advised that much of Fall, Winter and early Spring is grey and rainy. Late Spring, Summer and early Fall is usually beautiful though.
