Personal Investments • What to do with mutual funds in a brokerage account

Are you happy with your allocation across so many funds? Are you looking to consolidate into fewer funds? Do you have significant capital gains on these mutual funds? Are the funds distributing significant capital gains?

In an taxable broker account, you always have to balance the typically large tax hit of selling old positions vs the ongoing tax cost of keeping them. You will need to do some homework and compare costs vs the benefits.

I think most would say if you can sell them, probably don't buy the same complicated setup again - even if they are ETFs. Maybe consider consolidating them down into broader index funds.
