Trying to mimic a tax efficient version of 50% VG Wellington and 50% VG Wellesley in Merrill Edge taxable account. Both those funds are extremely tax inefficient and have transaction fees in ME. I am thinking ETF with 50% equities and 50% munis.
Would want an ever so slightly less volatile equity ETF portion than VTI, similar to how Wellington and Wellesley in equities. Best I could find was AVLV.
For the munis am thinking either VTEB or VCRM. VCRM seems to have done slightly better in its limited life, so am leaning towards that. The Mutual Fund VWIUX seems to be better but is not practical in Merrill Edge.
So I am leaning towards 50% AVLV and 50% VCRM.
