No. As with many things in life, you can look as much as you like so long as you don't touch. I doubt that anyone recommends never looking at one's portfolio, and the recommendation to look infrequently mostly applies to those who constantly tinker or change AA based on the noise. I look at our portfolio almost every day. I touch only if our AA drifts significantly (e.g., 5-10% from our target) or when our personal circumstances and needs change significantly. I occasionally pay attention to the market noise but exclusively for entertainment or curiosity, almost never for actionable insights.I've heard it recommended time and again to not ever look at your portfolio or the market in general, or at least only review once every few months or few years to remain ignorant of trends.
