Personal Consumer Issues • is finishing a garage floor recommended? sealing, epoxy, something else?

I bought my house about 8 years ago and the garage floor looks quite bad now, mostly because of moisture dripping from the car. I've mostly treated it like a part of the outside of the house rather than inside.

I've seen a few neighbors finish their garages but never really paid attention till now. My next door neighbor recently did an epoxy coat with "dust". The dust makes things hard to see, but it also makes the floor less slippery. Something like this:

I'm not a fan of this particular look and I don't like the idea that it will make it hard to find small objects that are dropped.

In general I prefer a natural look. A few questions:
- Is there a downside to just living with the non-finished garage floor, other than cosmetic?
- Is is recommended/desirable to have it finished?
- If I just do a seal is it going to be too slippery for safe use during wet weather?
- Are there any other options for epoxy that allow it to be less slippery without the cluttered/spotted look?
